We’re here for you through every stage of your pet’s life.

From wellness exams and vaccinations to laser therapy and surgery, the Elliott Bay Animal Hospital team will be here when you need us most. Throughout every stage of your pet’s life, we’ll provide a treatment plan tailored specifically for your pet to keep them feeling their best.

Physical Examinations
After your pet’s first year of age has passed, he or she is already the human equivalent of a 24-year-old! Each subsequent calendar year that passes is on average, about four to five years physiologically for your pet. That’s why there can be significant physical changes in your pet’s health from year to year.
We believe as your pet’s doctors, a thorough annual physical exam is central to the preventive health care we can provide for your pets as they move from youth to maturity. We take the time to examine your pet’s heart, lungs, eyes, ears, nose, throat, skin, hair coat, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, and urogenital systems.

During the exam, we will also address any questions about nutrition, behavior, or other pet health care concerns. Early recognition of potential health problems can go a long way towards improving and extending the quality of life your pet will enjoy.

As a part of the complete wellness exam for your pet and based on your pet’s risk factors and lifestyle we will also recommend appropriate vaccinations to immunize and protect your pet from serious and contagious diseases.

To further protect your pet we offer and administer microchip identification.

Diagnostic Testing
It is difficult to see your pet in pain or suffering and not know what’s wrong. Our team provides state of the art in house diagnostics to help us learn what’s wrong and provide an accurate diagnosis. A quicker diagnosis leads to quicker treatment! We perform diagnostic testing in-house and also submit test samples to several outside labs so we can provide results quickly and accurately.
Ultrasound
Ultrasonography is a completely non-invasive, painless way to diagnose and evaluate many common diseases. Ultrasonography is a type of diagnostic technique that uses ultrasound waves to produce an image allowing us to see internal images of the patient’s body. Ultrasound allows us to look at the architecture of internal organs and examine location, size, shape, texture and blood supply.
Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is a modality that is used to treat a variety of injuries, wounds, fractures, neurological and orthopedic conditions by reducing pain and inflammation.

Laser therapy is the only course of treatment that actually stimulates the body to heal within. Non-thermal photons of light are administered to the body and absorbed by the injured cells. The cells are then stimulated and respond with a higher rate of metabolism. This results in increased circulation in the body, an anti-inflammatory reaction, relief from pain and an acceleration of the healing process.

Whether your pet is rehabilitating from trauma or injury, healing from wounds or simply aging, your companion will benefit from this revolutionary approach to Veterinary medicine.

Surgery

Our team is highly skilled and experienced in performing a wide variety of pet surgeries using modern techniques, cutting edge equipment and always adhering to the strictest standards of safety and care. You can feel confident that when it comes to surgery, your loved one will be in excellent hands with our team!

Vaccinations

Prior to administering any vaccination, we want to establish that your pet is healthy. A sick animal will be further stressed when exposed to a vaccination (an injection which is intended to generate an immune response). This increased stress often makes the animal more sick, causing discomfort and sometimes life-threatening complications. Animals that are not healthy may not mount effective immune responses to the vaccinations, diminishing the value of the vaccines.

Canine Vaccine Protocol:

  • Rabies
  • Da2PPV (Distemper, Adenovirus-2, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)
  • Bordetella
  • Leptospirosis
  • CIV (Canine Influenza Virus)

Feline Vaccine Protocol:

  • Rabies
  • FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calcivirus, Panleukopenia)
  • FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus)
Radiology
There have been many advancements in digital x-ray technology, and we can now manipulate the digital images that we take allowing us to diagnose issues that may not be seen on a traditional x-ray. Because the x-rays are digital, we can also easily share the images with specialists or other veterinarians we may consult for more complex cases.
Nutritional Counseling

An estimated 59% of cats and 54% of dogs in the United States are overweight or obese. Good nutrition and weight management are key to your pet’s overall health. These healthy habits are created at a young age for your pet and it’s up to you to help them maintain these habits. Through a good diet and proper exercise, you greatly increase your pet’s chance at a long, healthy life.

Dentistry
Maintaining excellent oral health for your pets is a major component of their overall physical health. As plaque and tartar accumulate, irritation of the gums (gingivitis) results. Inflamed gums are more prone to bleeding and this bleeding is a perfect pathway for the introduction of bacteria into the bloodstream. The bacteria from the mouth can have serious effects on vital organs such as the heart, liver, and kidneys.

Our entire staff wants to provide the highest quality dental care for your pet. We have a dedicated dental suite where we perform routine and complex dental procedures.

The doctor and veterinary technician work as a team during your pet’s dental procedure. Similar to veterinarians, our dental technicians have attended continuing education and participated in hands-on dental procedures training.

We proudly serve the pets of the Seattle metropolitan area.

We love being part of your community! We provide compassionate veterinary care for the pets of Interbay, Magnolia, Ballard, Queen Anne, Crown Hill, Fremont, Wallingford, Capitol Hill, Downtown Seattle, and beyond!
