Associate Veterinarian

Elliott Bay Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our progressive, community-based team.

Serving the Seattle area since 1945, Elliott Bay Animal Hospital is an AAHA-accredited practice that is recognized throughout the region for offering the highest standards in veterinary care in a welcoming, down-to-earth environment. Our eight-doctor practice is a local, veterinary-owned practice with an established team of highly-qualified and well-trained licensed veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants. Licensed Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a motivated licensed veterinary technician who is looking for long-term employment with an established veterinary practice. Our team is the heart of our business and we are looking to add a compassionate and enthusiastic new team member. We are a progressive, seven-doctor, AAHA accredited practice seeking a self-starting professional able to bring passion and value to our amazing team.

Our ideal candidate must be able to provide excellent customer care as well as perform the duties necessary to support the clinic and assist our veterinarians. They must be detail-oriented, reliable, self-starting, genuinely care, and concerned for our patients’ well-being. They must be self-motivated and take direction on tasks that can be completed in a timely fashion, with or without supervision. Previous experience and a valid license with the Department of Health are preferred however new graduates will be considered.

Job responsibilities include patient care, client service and education, anesthesia, laboratory, surgery, and support to our veterinarians, as well as many other technical and clerical skills.

Client Care Coordinator

Elliott Bay Animal Hospital is currently seeking a full-time client care coordinator to join our growing team!

Our independently-owned veterinary hospital is looking to add to our team! We are seeking an extraordinary person with amazing customer service skills wanting to join our reception team as a client care coordinator. We desire that person to be someone who enjoys working with both people and animals in a fast-paced and cooperative environment.

The client care coordinator provides the first and last impression of this hospital. They must have exceptional client service, show excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and maintain a sense of teamwork at all times. They also must be able to prioritize, multitask with numerous interruptions, and have the ability to communicate directly and professionally, acting as a liaison between clients and doctors. A typical day includes scheduling and confirming appointments, intake and discharge of appointments, hospitalized patients, and boarders, answering multiple phone lines, scanning and linking documents into the medical record, documenting medical information according to AAHA standards, and assisting the pharmacy and treatment teams as needed.

Job Requirements/Skills/Physical Demands: Minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma. Must have exemplary communication skills, strong attention to detail, and must enjoy working in a customer service atmosphere. Significant telephone experience and some computer skills are needed. Must be able to multi-task many duties and maintain a professional, friendly, and courteous atmosphere. Must be able to properly restrain animals, as well as enjoy working with them. Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds unassisted, work on feet for 10-12 hours a day, remain calm under stress, and have fun each day.

The schedule varies but currently consists of a four-day work week, between Monday through Friday.

* Disclaimer: This is a Reception position – not a Veterinary Assistant or Technician position. There are six different sub-positions within our Client Care Department and it takes approximately 12 to 18 months to complete the training required to function in each position as part of our reception team. Elliott Bay Animal Hospital is currently seeking a full-time treatment assistant to support our seven-doctor veterinary practice.

We are seeking a motivated individual who is looking for long-term and stable employment with an independently-owned, established veterinary practice. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, reliable, and self-starting. The treatment assistant will be responsible for helping maintain the hospital facilities and provide supportive care for in-hospital patients as needed. Duties include cleaning, laundry, stocking of shelves, helping exercise pets, supportive pet care as needed, and overall hospital organization and facilities management.

Qualifications

  • Have a minimum of a high school degree; an Associates (AA) degree is preferable
